The Throne of God

The Throne Of God

(Pastor. Avelino Mendez)

Glory to the Lord. We are happy Hallelujah, congratulations to all, and also to those who I had not been able to communicate with them or had not seen yet, we have a new year with us and the opportunity, our brothers, I wish you all a very happy year, full of the presence of the Lord, that they can achieve all the goals that they have proposed.

Traditionally, the message at the beginning of the year is one that has a lot to do with let’s put it this way. With resolutions and all those things, I am not going to talk about resolutions today. Amen? You heard they already have their resolutions made. But before continuing I am going to give you a very short announcement, for those who do those who have or are willing or still want to belong to Colossian groups, we have not yet officially started this week. To all the teachers and leaders of Colossians, they will be receiving very important information and as soon as we meet in the pastoral ministry and decide how we are going to work this January as you know, also during the month of January, we usually pray to ask God direction as to how we are going to function in the church. As soon as we have our calendar ready then we will begin, we will give you more details of when we are going to start the Colossian groups. Meanwhile, you are going to receive very important information, read it, and be ready for everything that God has this year, believe me, this year is going to be spectacular from God. Amen?

Glory to the Lord and we are going to pray and then we get to today’s topic while we are praying I am going to ask the young people who are in the broadcast booth, Hallelujah! It sounds very professional at that, right? Please put the text of Psalms 89:14on the screen. We pray father in the name of Jesus we thank you, thank you for this beautiful day that you give us sir, thank you because we can serve you, adore you, bless you Lord be part of what you do Lord I recognize Lord that none of us is capable Lord, of doing anything nor to give anything if it does not come from you Lord, so Lord in humiliation I come before your presence asking you Lord that everything that happens in this place is because you dispose it. Lord that you act in the way that you want and that you glorify yourself is in life and in the hearts Lord, of all those who listen to us. In the name of Jesus. Amen and amen.

The title of today’s message is The Throne Of God. And let’s start with this verse and we continue there, says Psalm 89:14justice and right are the foundation of your throne and your heralds love and truth. And I want to talk about the throne of God today as a central theme because I understand and recognize the need we have as members of the church, to understand the greatness of God and the purpose that moves me to this is that at the end of the day we can better understand the great that my God is how great our God is and that this knowledge produces in us the desire to adore him more, the desire to serve him better, the desire to agree, to humble ourselves more before him and it is my prayer that at the end of this sermon that can leave motivated not only during this year but throughout your life that you can worship God with all your strength and serve him as he deserves.

The text we use as a reference to the throne of God in Psalm 89:14it is very interesting because it talks about what sustains the throne of God. He says justice and law are the foundation of your throne, and when we speak of a throne the first thing that comes to our mind is kings, the first thing that comes to our mind is, many beautiful things when we think of a throne, we think of a very seat. beautiful, very well decorated in fact the Bible speaks for example the throne that Solomon built which was an ivory throne and when we think about that we think of gold ornaments and all these things. And the least we think about is the foundation of that throne because what we are seeing is generally the upper part where the king is seated, where the one who has authority and power is seated and we are looking at the figure of the one who is sitting there. But we don’t look at the foundation of the throne because we take it for granted, that the foundation of the throne has to be based on the same as the one sitting. But interestingly the psalmist expresses that the foundation of the throne of God has a foundation. It is not just any throne, it is a throne that is based on justice and law. The old version shows us that it is based on that in judgment and justice. Queen Valera of 1960 presents it as being affirmed in the trial and justice. But why is the throne of God based on judgment and justice? And what I am going to say from here to below keep it very present because it is the basis of everything we do what we are going to say. it is a throne that is founded on justice and law. The old version shows us that it is based on that in judgment and justice. Queen Valera of 1960 presents it as being affirmed in the trial and justice. But why is the throne of God based on judgment and justice? And what I am going to say from here to below keep it very present because it is the basis of everything we do what we are going to say.

It is because the character of God is a character of justice and righteousness and that character we have established, when God instituted the covenant with Israel and presents it as we know the 10 commandments, in the 10 commandments or in the tables of the law, lies the basis of God’s character. You have to see first who God is and who we are! you will love your God above all things. It has to do with our relationship at home, it has to do with honoring your father and mother, with your wife, you will not covet someone else’s wife, it has to do with the people around us, you will love your neighbor as yourself, it still has to do with our working conditions. In fact, the original Decalogue speaks of keeping the Sabbath day of rest, and therefore there, in those ten commandments, the whole character of God is involved.

God’s character doesn’t change, God’s grace doesn’t change, who he is. He remains the same, the only difference is that now these commandments are not written on tables of stone, they are written where? in our hearts. The only difference is that now we do all this because we are children of God and therefore God’s character becomes part of our character. So now when we do something we do it moved by the Spirit of God, who lives in us and has the character of God. But we have not eliminated the 10 commandments as many people think. Now they are not on a table on a wall, now they are where? inside us! Blessed be the Lord.

Therefore God bases his throne, in his character, in who he is, in everything that he does in everything that he is, as God. If so, then we have to start thinking. That God works in justice. Let me explain something about kings, this about kings is very beautiful, I love to watch old movies, don’t think I’m talking about movies from the 20s or 30sno. I’m talking about movies that present life in those years. I think it is clearer that way. Some of you may think the pastor what he sees are those black and white movies. No, is not that! what I mean, although some of them are good. Amen?. What I’m saying is, I like to see that lifestyle. Because I notice something in those movies that is very important, that today has been lost, today’s movies, especially modern comedies, what they do is denigrate the human being, what they do is use double meaning jokes, not healthy What they do is humiliate people. These films, on the contrary, exalt the life that God wants us to live where there was what is known as honor, where there was respect. When a person came to where the king was, because I want to talk about the throne, when he got to the king, the first thing they did was to bow to the king. The first thing they did was simply to honor the king and bend on their knees. In fact, the bible says that in the presence of the Lord every knee will bow, unfortunately, every day it is seen less that people prostrate themselves before the Lord. And I’m not talking about a physical position, I’m talking about a spiritual position, I’m talking about recognizing that God is God. And I serve him, I’m talking about understanding that it doesn’t matter how many blessings God gives me. unfortunately, every day less is seen that people prostrate themselves before the Lord. And I’m not talking about a physical position, I’m talking about a spiritual position, I’m talking about recognizing that God is God. And I serve him, I’m talking about understanding that it doesn’t matter how many blessings God gives me.

He is still God, I’m talking about that I don’t have the right to say God you have to give me this, you have to give me the other, you have to give me that God is not my servant. I serve God. Amen?. That is what I am talking about and today we see less and less that reverence, that fear. But at that time, when this psalm was written, the kings had that reverence of their servants and the interesting thing is, that what determined the reign of a king was his character. Maybe you don’t see it that way, but for example, a king who was bad acted unjustly, but a good king was one who acted with justice. A good king came to the town when the people came to seek justice to be done, that king did justice to his people and when someone with any need arrived, he was listened to by the king.

You will find the Bible kings like Ahab. The Bible says that King Ahab was a bad king. Because he had a bad character. They go against the king is like Rehoboam, Rehoboam the Bible says that he was a bad king. Because he did bad things his character determined before God his reign, in the same way, the reign of God the throne of God is a throne of justice Look at what Psalm 97: 1-2 says to finish this section and enter a new section. Because we still have a lot to talk about the thrones we are beginning.

The Lord is King! And he presents it with an exclamation, Do you know what exclamation means in Spanish? is saying it with joy with glee is an exclamation. Let the earth rejoice, rejoice on the most remote shores. But then what comes does not have him in exclamation, but I want him to realize what he says. Dark storm clouds surround them. Speaking with tremendous joy and joy, the lord reigns, rejoice the earth, but then he says that around the throne of God, he saw dark clouds. Righteousness and justice are the basis of his throne and here then we have to ask ourselves a question, let’s stop for a minute there, as Pastor Maelo says, let’s see it! Why is this because suddenly in the midst of an exclamation of joy, of joy, dark clouds appear? That they are a symbol of a storm that makes us think of a storm, that makes us think of floods, that makes us think that we have to run because lightning and thunder are beginning to fall right away. But the next part of the verse gives us the answer.

Righteousness and justice are the basis of his throne, we are seeing a God who cannot bear injustice, and therefore when he begins to turn, hallelujah. He says: it is a horrible thing to fall into the hands of a living God! When God’s anger and his courage begin to come to an end what happens? dark clouds begin to show through his throne. In fact, the Bible tells us that lightning, thunder, and all these things begin to come out of the throne. If you read Revelation and you read what goes on around the throne of God, you are going to find such a graphic description of what I am saying. Lightning, thunder is a scene that instills terror because when God gets angry, HE GETS MAD.

The good thing about it is that our God is a God of mercy, God’s throne is beautiful. The first thing I wanted to establish is that it is established under justice and judgment. The second thing you want to establish about the throne of God is that the throne of God is glorious, it is beautiful, it is beautiful, it is one of the most beautiful scenes in the Bible. Look at the description that Ezekiel gives us, and it says: Ezekiel 1:26 look at how Ezekiel describes it: above that vault and this is a vision that the prophet Ezekiel has about God. Above that vault was something resembling a sapphire throne and on what looked like a throne was a human-looking figure.

So the prophet Ezekiel has a vision of the throne of God and he sees it in a sapphire color, the sapphire stone, I don’t have much knowledge of this about the stones, but it is a type of blue and suddenly the prophet Ezekiel sees this throne and on the same throne there was something blue, he saw it as blue, I’m not going to give you the text, look for it later. But when the people of God received the tables of the law, and God asked Moses and the elders to go up the mountain, to receive the tables of the law. The Bible says that at one point the path they were going up showed a sapphire blue rock. Therefore, when they were going up, they suddenly saw that the ground was a rock of sapphire blue. If you go to the mountains you will notice, especially in those areas of Israel, that there are no such rocks in the place where they were climbing. Amen?.

But I don’t want to go into much detail with that because that’s another $ 10 as they say out there. But it is beautiful, the throne of God is beautiful, the book of Revelation describes it like there is a rainbow and everything around the throne of God is beautiful because everything that God does is beautiful. Amen? In chapter 10 Ezekiel has another vision of God from the same book of Ezekiel and look at what he says about the throne of God: Then I looked and on the vault, it was above the head of the cherubs and a kind of sapphire stone that had the shape of a throne. The throne of God is beautiful! I imagine it. I don’t know how many of you imagine it. Imagine the beautiful blue color where God is sitting.

Later in the book of Revelation, you are going to see that the throne of God, (and those who know eschatology know that the throne of God in the book of Revelation when it comes to the moment of judgment, is the judgment before the great white throne ). White representing justice and when we see the different ones, (that’s why I love lights, I’m a fan of lights and I see the Christmas trees today that come and suddenly the lights change colors and the same lights change in a color to another and I stay like a small child looking like that because I love it and I imagine that the throne of God also has its different colors, all of which I say. The Bible does not say it. It changes blue colors depending on how God feels ). The judgment before the great white throne, the justice of God, the Holiness of God, and before that throne and what the Bible says and it is tremendous it says that when that judgment is made. (It has not yet been done!) Heaven and earth will disappear, the Bible says: they were removed before the throne of God because I say this? because I want you to understand the greatness of God! God is great, God is Holy, His throne is beautiful, His justice is perfect, His holiness is perfect, and we have to understand God better. To be able to give him an adoration that goes according to what he deserves. His holiness is perfect and we have to understand God better. To be able to give him an adoration that goes according to what he deserves. His holiness is perfect and we have to understand God better. To be able to give him an adoration that goes according to what he deserves.

Therefore our worship has to be in righteousness, our worship has to be in holiness, our worship has to be in beauty. Everything we do for God has to be on the level of who God is. We can’t give him less than that, we can’t give him a yawning hallelujah. I don’t know if you understand me (Hallelujah) we can’t give that to God. Our worship should be with fervor, with emotion because it is for God.

We cannot offer him a mediocre life, it has to be a life of holiness, it has to be a life in search, we cannot simply get up in the morning and present ourselves before God, like that half-asleep and say, Lord, here I am, I am leaving, and we will talk later! NO God deserves that we have the time, if I need to get up 10-15 minutes earlier and give 10 or 15 minutes of the best of my life to God, I am going to do it because it is for God. Blessed be the Lord. And I’m not telling you much. I’m saying 10 or 15 minutes because God deserves the best if I’m going to do something for God, to give something to God! it has to be the best, period. Because he deserves it because he is the King and until we understand the greatness of our God we will not be able to give the best to God until we understand that he is God we will not understand him.

Interestingly, I spoke with my son about this topic when we came and at a certain point in the conversation, we talked about when God gets angry and in the middle of the conversation and later we will touch on the topic today and thank God that now we are under grace and people see Jesus and confuse the Jesus we see as if God is like Jesus. And he says yes. But Jesus is also God and then I realized something very interesting. When Jesus cleans the temple, so you can see if God is God! When Jesus cleanses the temple, we are talking about a man. One man, one. Only one, in the midst of his enemies that were the Pharisees, the Jews in the temple of God that was the most sacred place for them to touch the temple to say something about the temple cost Jesus to be carried the cross.

That was their main accusation. That he says that he will destroy the temple and in three days he will restore it. He is speaking against the temple of God. They did not know that Jesus was talking about his own temple, which was his body. Amen? but they understood it that way. And in the middle of all that, he makes a whip and cleanses the temple. And do you know what they said to Jesus? I know you know the story! why do you do this? no one dared to intervene, oh to prevent Jesus from cleaning the temple. You know why? Because Jesus is God and when God does or says or determines to do something, do you know what man can do? Nothing!

You just have to open your eyes and say Lord why did you do it? Hallelujah. This was all they could do because when God determines and decides that he is going to do something he is going to do it. And when God gets angry. He gets angry! and when Jesus saw that temple, that the conditions that had them, said no, no. My house, house of prayer will be called. So let’s clean it up and clean it up and nobody did anything. Why? because they couldn’t! when God says, he does, period.

When we understand who God is, we can worship him better! The foundation of a relationship with God doesn’t start with simply reading the Bible, it starts with: I know who God is! I have reverence for that God! Now in Isaiah 66: 1 The Lord says something much bigger, listen to how great God is Isaiah 66: 1It says like this: The Lord says heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool, what house can they build for me? What home can you offer me? And let me put it this way. God is so great that a throne cannot contain Him. The whole heavens are my throne and the earth is my footstool. What is the Lord telling them? The Lord is saying to you: look, you are at my feet. Even if you want, even if you fight, even if the man says we don’t need God. The earth is still the footstool of God the earth is still what? who has to be at the feet of God. Do you know what the church means to us? that we have to learn to humble ourselves before that God.

You know why or what was the purpose for the kings on their throne to have a dais and it was not simply to be more comfortable to reach and to be able to sit better, it was because in that state when the enemies came they had to humble themselves and represented that they were at the feet of that king and he presented that they were subject to the king and when a king had authority over the people to the feet he kissed him because they understood you are the king and they were willing to do it and when a person was revolted against the king the first thing he did was! who did not bend his knees to him! Take the story of Mordecai and Esther for example. When Mordecai was asked to humble himself at the feet of Amman, what did he do? he stood acknowledging. No, don’t wait!

We do humble ourselves. In the presence of the Lord. We will bend our knees in the presence of the Lord the people of God – if he falls to the ground to say you are God and sovereign Lord. Blessed! the glory is of our God !. Because even the heavens, even the heavens, are the throne of God, now the book of Revelation and this is a text, a little longer tells us about what happens in heaven because I want to take you to something that perhaps you or that many Sometimes we have heard in our days, that our mentality has changed, we hear people say Jesus is my friend, Jesus is my older brother, Jesus loves me and we begin to have a tremendous trust with Jesus, thinking that this was for the times before all these things happened. But look at what the book of Revelation talks about things that have not yet happened. Look what it says: Revelation 4: 1at the 5th after this I looked there in heaven an open door and the voice that had spoken to me before with a sound like a trumpet told me. Get up here! I’m going to show you what has to happen after this instantly the Spirit came upon me and I saw that there was a throne in heaven and someone seated on the throne. The one who was sitting looked like a jasper and carnelian stone around the throne there was a rainbow that resembled an emerald surrounded the throne other twenty-four thrones on which 24 elders were seated, dressed in white and with a gold crown in the head, the throne came out what? lightning, roaring, and thunder before the throne a day seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God this is not a thing of the past is still talking about a throne, where they will exist, lightning thunder, when you look at it you say: but this is a strong enough scene to speak of heaven. In other words, we are not talking about the earth now we are talking about heaven and all these things are going to happen thunder, lightning because the wrath of God has not yet manifested and there are 24 more tones that are the thrones of whom? of the elderly! OK.

To make it very small, very short as they say: straight to the liver the general tendency is that twelve of these thrones represent the twelve Tribes of Israel, the twelve apostles as you want to call them and the other twelve thrones, represent the Church that they are represented by the two apostles what he is saying is that Israel and the church are going to be as part of the reign of Christ with thrones we are going to have a throne there, perhaps the throne, the throne that we have is not like the Lord’s. Definitely not going to be! But we’re going to have thrones there Hallelujah! What it implies is that we are going to be reigning, with the Lord. What strikes me is what happens next. Every time the archangels or angels were there, the cherubs worshiped God! Do you know what these 24 elders did? they took their crowns they knelt and what did they do? they put it at the feet of the Lord we are talking about kings we are talking about thrones 24 thrones in addition to the throne of God. But what did all of them do? Every time it was proclaimed, that it was said hallelujah, they worshiped the king by throwing themselves to the ground and putting their crowns on the ground. Do you understand what I mean? this is not a thing of the past. When we get to the presence of the Lord we will have to continue worshiping God as we are doing now when we get there no, it is not that we are going to be with Jesus, you are my strong corduroy we go here I go there No. to render honor and glory to God. you know something? God continues to be God and will continue to be God even though we the Church is raised up and even though we are in his presence, God will continue to be God and the honor, the glory, the majesty that he deserves up there also must receive. Blessed be his name! this is not a question of here goes! so let’s practice here. Humble ourselves before God, however, there is something very interesting, all that we have seen of the throne of God, judgment and all those things, the Church does not affect us, you know why? because we already have access to a different throne, the throne of grace. There is something very interesting, all that we have seen of the throne of God, judgment, and all those things the Church does not affect us, you know why? because we already have access to a different throne, the throne of grace. There is something very interesting, all that we have seen of the throne of God, judgment, and all those things the Church does not affect us, you know why? because we already have access to a different throne, the throne of grace.

Hebrews 4:16I love this verse, one of my favorites. And why is this verse one of my favorites? Because every time I make a mistake I have to make use of this text. Look at how it says: so let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find the grace that will help us at the moment we need it most the throne of grace. That same judgment seat of righteousness is also a grace throne and we have come to that throne through Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ allows us to come closer to the throne, but to the throne of grace, and let me explain this to you because I love this, it is one of my favorite parts of scripture when there was a king, anywhere! to get to the presence of the king it was necessary to ask for a special permit. That is why you are going to see it in the book of Esther that when Esther decides to approach King Ahasuerus to ask for mercy for her people, she was trembling because she knew that if she was not called the presence of the king, what would pass? they could kill her. In other words, the king did not stretch his scepter and gave her the option of saying what she had to say, they were killed. It’s that simple and the king could stay calm and the guards would go and kill them and it didn’t go beyond there, no one was guilty of that to reach the king’s presence a special permit was needed, but the king’s son could enter the presence of the king when he wanted he did not need special permission the queen so I have nothing against women do not think that the queen if he needed special permission, but not the son so the son could enter at the time he was the king could be on his throne the river could enter and nobody told him anything not only that the son could take his friends with him and their friends did not tell him either anything because he was the son of the king! When Jesus Christ entered the presence of the Father, we entered that is why the book of Ephesians says: that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. This means that we have access to the father 24/7 at all times, we do not need to ask for permission, we can enter the father’s presence at any time and talk to him because Jesus Christ did! As it did? The Bible says it clearly in the book of Hebrews.

So if you are seeing me wherever I am and you have not yet passed or taken the ticket to reach the presence of the Father, there is only one way to repent and seek the presence of Christ and he is the way that goes. to bring into the presence of God! Blessed lord! I praise you, Jesus! Hallelujah. Preaching today I got used to preaching glory to God, I was teaching it. ok, we continue because it still does not stay there when we reach the throne of grace and this is the part that you will like the most. We start with the throne of true judgment. We start with the foundations of true judgments that can be found in the Decalogue, that is why it is and I am going to say these new parentheses with these 10 pesos as well, that is why many people think that the Ark of the Covenant that contains the 10 commandments became footstool of God’s throne. Because the ten commandments had to? the law Amen? and the law is the character of God and if the foundation of the throne of God is that law. So many people think well then, the ark of the covenant then became him, how do you say Hallelujah, I already forgot the word. At the base of the throne of God, we close the parenthesis Hallelujah. Don’t be scared, sometimes those things just come to me and I have to say them before I forget. Okay, we continue.

When we come through the throne of grace then something happens that I am going to read in Revelation chapter 22 verse 1 to 5 have to do with the future, but I am interested in what it says why it has to do with many of us Revelation 22 1 -5 I’m going to read it and you can mark it in your Bibles, if you have it then the angel showed me a river of water of life clear as crystal that came from where the throne of God then the throne of God is a throne of life ok and it ran in the center of the main street of the city on each side of the river was the tree of life that produces 12 crops a year one per month and the leaves of the tree are for the health of the nations so the throne of God is a throne of health!and there was no curse therefore the throne of God becomes a throne of blessing the throne of God and the lamb will be in the city his servants will worship him they will see him face and they will carry his name on their foreheads there will be no night there will be no need for light from a sun lamp because the Lord God will light them up and he will reign forever, it turns from a throne of grace into a throne of Life and a throne of health because even though we have not yet reached the great city of God’s throne, that Water.

That water represents the blessing that we have through that Spirit of God and the Spirit of God flows from where? From the throne of God, they see the advantage that it is to be able to understand who God is to understand his greatness because when we understand God correctly and we humble ourselves in the way we have to do it and we seek his presence and his face then from the throne of God a river flows a river of water of life and very clearly Jesus said it the one who believes in me as the writing inside says will flow that rivers of living water and he clearly said this was saying of the Holy Spirit that he was going to give them so the Holy Spirit flows in those who understand who God is who adore him who come before his throne in adoration who see his greatness and his majesty who humble themselves before him the blessing of the children of God comes through the

That is my God, that is my God that is my Lord, and more than anything I hope that in this year I can and believe me I believe I want for you too, but I have to start with myself well I can give what I do not have God willing that I can worship God as he deserves to humble myself before my king as he deserves to put aside my self and put the Lord at the center of my life as he deserves and the group has a song they can go on because only me There is one verse left and this verse is tremendous. It is found in the chapter that perhaps you do not expect it in 1 Corinthians 13:12, but what 1 Corinthians the love chapter has to do with this that the pastor is saying 1 Corinthians 13:12 says the following now we see indirectly and veiled like a mirror, but then we will see face to face now I know so, but then I will know as I am known and I want to emphasize that expression then I will know as I am known in other words there are things about me that I do not know and I understand that I do not understand there are things that God wants to do with me that are not there yet clear.

There are things that God wants. Blessings that God wants to give me that I still do not understand, but there it says that when the perfect arrives then I will see and I will be known as I am truly known, let me explain in Spanish that you and I know the Bible says that God calls to things that are not as if they were The Bible says that we are holy. Although we have countless mistakes, life says that we are just, although we act injustice so many times, life says that we are children of God, although sometimes we behave well far from being children of God, sometimes I say spoiled child, disobedient children the Bible He says all that about me, but when the perfect thing arrives then I will know who I really am.

The potential that each one of us has before God is great, each one of us has the opportunity and the ability to do so many things for God and for God, but for that to happen we first have to know God because knowing God we go to know our own limitations and we are going to understand who we are knowing God is that we are going to know how far we can go because if your God is a God of me I can’t take it anymore I can’t take it anymore than it’s over for me then you go to be a Christian I can no longer give more and everything is over for me,But if your God is a great almighty God that nothing and nobody limits you, you are going to be a Christian who will walk without being limited by anything or anyone because if your God is so powerful that the earth has to submit to him then you will to see how the doors are going to open so that you can enter through it because you will understand who that God is, but at the moment my vision of God is distorted and I do not see the true God in front of me. Then as happened to Peter I am going to sink, because Peter did not sink because Jesus was not there. Jesus was there! Peter did not sink because it is because he could not walk on water because he was walking on water! Pedro did not sink because of the storm because he was going through the storm Pedro sank because his gaze stopped seeing the one who made it possible for him to walk on the waters that he will cross the storm that he will rise above all nature gives human and circumstances and break all human laws to walk on water. When we look at that God and we have him centered in our heart and we know who he is.
